Good Apple

Good Apple began in 2019 with a mission to improve the health of our community by providing Austinites with better access to healthy food. We did this by working with small local farmers that use sustainable growing practices and by partnering with local food pantries, health clinics, and low-income housing communities, to bring free food to families facing food insecurity in Austin.

Our program has evolved a lot over the past few years — we've expanded our farming partnerships throughout Texas, increased our produce and add-on selection, rolled out a new website (twice!), and pivoted our impact programs toward food assistance for folks at risk from COVID-19 and back again. Throughout these changes, Good Apple's mission never changed and we're proud to have adapted and evolved as a company while sticking with our core values.

The next stage in Good Apple's evolution: beginning on May 2, Good Apple will merge with Farmhouse Delivery to continue providing delicious, locally grown produce to Austinites.

Farmhouse Delivery has a strong history of supporting local farming and the Austin community and was a huge inspiration when we were just starting out. Like Good Apple, Farmhouse Delivery shares our commitment to transparency about where your produce comes from and who is growing it (read about it here; you might recognize many of these farmers from your own Good Apple deliveries!).

Farmhouse Delivery also believes in supporting the health and wellness of our community, and operates a Donate-a-box program that partners with Mobile Loaves and Fishes and Common Threads to provide food assistance and cooking education. Because of our shared values, I feel confident that Farmhouse Delivery will serve the Good Apple community well moving forward.
